Katie slipped through the old pieces of metal and scraps of cars. How could humans throw these wonderful cars away? she thought to herself. They're so wonderful to chase, she thought, smiling a little to herself. She frowned as her stomach rumbled: a reminder of her days no longer a pet. A human's toy. She shook her head and continued through the old junkyard with heave\y pawsteps. She stopped in her tracks at the sound of a scurrying rat. She lowered her head again and trudged through, knowing she wouldn't be able to catch the little rat. They were so agile and quick, and she feared their hard bites. She cringed as a piece of glass cut the soft pad on her paw, but endured the pain in silence. She had a way of enduring pain silently. She sat, making sure no glass was in her way this time, and raised her paw to her mouth. She gently cleaned the wound and snuffled at it until the pain wasn't quite as sharp anymore. She set her paw down and stared up at the black, starless sky.

The smell of blood had reached Lei's nose, dog's noses were so sensitive to everything and anything. She sighed to herself, her stomach rumbling, it hadn't been that long ago that she had gotten away from the horrible, hideous, very stinky pound. Was it good to live life like this? With no human to watch over her? She was still young and could probably find an owner if she didn't get caught by the pound people again.
There was metal all around her and weeds. The piles were so high, to her at least. She felt like a insignificant mouse being caught by a cat. She sighed once more, her head lowering to the ground as she started to sniff for the owner of the animal that was bleeding.

The junkyard had a new visitor tonight it seemed. New to the city, this filthy and decaying city, once belonging to the high rulers of the earth, and belonging, it seemed... to the dogs. Oh yes, this was Mayfair's kind of town. The animal moved with a distinct limp, his hind leg bore a nasty gash that had yet to heal. However, that did nothing to make him seem weaker. The animal was huge. Standing near to three and a half feet shoulder height, and weighing in at nearly 190 pounds of stock muscle.
Black body moved through the shadowy undergrowth, like a parasite upon the city. Mayfair's maw parted, foaming drool dripping from his jowels from the lack of water he had intaken recently, long tongue slipped effortlessly passed the massive jaws and sharp teeth to steal from the air any vital coolness and liquid humidity that might be lingering there.
The smell of blood soon clouded the air, and his sensitive nose picked up upon it easily. At this point the animal cared not if that blood belonged to dog, man or beast... it was blood, and so the shadow of a monster slipped towards where the scent came from, keeping himself masked in shadow from the two smaller dogs, his tongue lashing over that maw to releive it of the annoying foam that dripped from his mouth, stealing from him what precious fluid still remained... his pointed ears pushed forward and he simply observed, sure that his putrid smelling hide would give away his location with ease, but he hardly cared, he felt he had little to fear from the small creatures that lingered before him.

The sudden smells of dogs met her sensitive nose and Katie looked up, forgetting the stinging pain for a moment. She groaned and stood, careful of where she was stepping. She moved through the piles of metal and her favorite cars until she cmae upon a huge dog, three feet at least.
"H-hello," she stammered, looking up at him. She shifted, taking her weight off her hind leg, the one that had been injured so long ago and never healed properly. She too walked with a limp, though the injury was held long ago and she no longer felt the sting of it anymore.
She looked down, but bravely drew herself up to her full two feet, perhaps a little bigger. She stared bravely into the male's eyes, doing her best to seem unintimidated. And perhaps seem intimidating.

Her eyes watched from afar as a female dog rose from the hill of metal that had surrounded her. She moved closer, her senses alert as her nose had caught another smell, one of a male. A small growl arose from her, enough to be heard but not enough to be taken seriously. She moved closer to the female dog before catching sight of a male dog in the distance. He was tall and could possibly kill both the female dog's easily, if he wanted to do that, of course.
H-hello. The female had stammered, she looked scared and nervous. Lei could do nothing but watch. If she tried to 'protect' the older female, she's probably be kicked to the side. Lei was a small dog, probably only weighing at 10 pounds. Her eyes wandered towards Katie's leg, it was hurt, and she smell the dry blood. So that was the thing that was bleeding earlier. She thought to herself as she hid herself under some small car, her face and her two front legs sticking out a bit.

THE seeming monster of a dog remained still, panting deeply, he did not sway from the first of the smaller (but larger of the two) females to approuch him. His lips tugging back into a panting grin when she looked back at him again. His eyes were so dark a brown they nearly looked red in that lite, staring out at her from his dark black skull. He had respected her choice to look away from his peircing gaze, however, he found something exciting about the fact that a beast so small dared to look back at him when all was said and done.``And a hello to you as well`` The beastly dog purred before nodding his head softly and taking a step towards her, his massive skull lowering as that box styled nose pressed against her shoulder, intaking a deep inhale of her own particular stench. Once he had it his nose would expell all of the air that he took in. He seemed about to speak when something attracted his ears.
Pointed ears rolled back some towards the sound, and his head snapped in the direction of the ten pound wonder that growled at him. No, he didn't underestimate little dogs, he had once seen a terrier mix rip the balls off of a pitbull. However her growl was greeted with his lips tearing back from his teeth and a rumbling growl, like thunder, rolling from between clenched teeth. ``I have no desire to fight with you mongrel, be wise and stop this.`` He growled warningly.

The brown female pressed her nose to his shoulder as well, but she didn't have to bend down like he had to. She jumped when he turned, surprised with the appearence of another dog. She looked around, dark eyes darting here and there. She shifted nervously and raised her paw to her snout, running her soft pink tongue over the cut there.
Her ears pricked at the brute's voice, listening to his words, contemplating the tone of his words. All the while she stayed quiet, for she did not know what there was to say. But, against her better judgment, she spoke. "He was not aiming to harm me," she said, gesturing with a flick of her tail to the large black dog.
She licked her paw nervously again, bringing it back down to the earth softly.

Why did I have to growl? She thought to herself, as she laid there silently, not moving out of her hiding spot, which really wasn't her hiding spot. Do you want to die? She thought to herself as she listened to the male dog speak, his teeth being shown towards her. Big dogs like him don't scare me...do they? She asked herself, sighing, the hair on her forehead covering her eyes a bit.
She watched the female dog, she seemed a bit nervous. Not surprising. But, Lei would not aggravate the brute any further. She listened also to what the female had to say. Is he trustworthy though? She asked, even though nobody could hear what she said. Though he did say he had no desire to fight me, would he attack me? She sighed, her mind was wandering. Why would he need to attack a small dog like me? Plus, I don't look very fierce and I don't have the energy to fight back at such a huge dog. She moved forward a bit, wriggling out of her hiding spot till she had enough room to stand.
"Fine. I shall not fight." Her voice betrayed no emotion.

The beast's lips lowered and the thundering growl stopped when the little dog in hiding said she was not going to try to remove his ankles... well, not in so many words, but she is a runt, there was not much else he was worried about her doing. His hind leg remained just above the ground as he looked at the more friendly femme. There was the air of a killer about him, and the wounds currently marring his black hide were definately dogbites, pitbull and other danes most likely by the size of them.``Who is the law in this junkyard?`` Mayfair asked, his lip quivering slightly when he did so. He had no intention of running in any pack, but forming one? That might be fun, a pack of miscreants hell bent on causing trouble... That was his idea of a good time... once he was healed that is... unless the starting of such a pack might be lingering around him now...

Katie blinked, surprised that the female had crawled out of hiding. She knew the dog intended to hide any emotion, and she hid it well. But Katie knew that the tiny dog was afraid to fight, and not just that...but that the tiny dog was afraid of larger dogs. She chuckled and turned to the great black dane.
"I do not know who runs this place, or if anyone does at all." she turned her gaze to the ground for a moment, thinking. "Why? Do you wish to rule?" she asked with a teasing glimmer in her eye. She bumped his shoulder with her nose playfully.

His ears twitched when Katie spoke again, then glanced over to the shaggy little mongrel. A grin tugging at his boxy snout as she nosed him. ``I can't think of anyone better...`` The beast mused as he glanced between the two. He was large, more then capable of holding his own to keep these lands his own. ``I have been guarding junkards since I was old enough to draw blood. It seems a fitting dominion.``His tail whiped behind him a bit, yes, he liked this idea, the idea that he could be the king of such a place. His own size and strength showed dignaty, even the breed itself were guards and hunters of royalty once. His maw parted and his tongue collected the white foam dripping from his jowels. ``I don't suppose one of you ladies could show me where there might be some clean water?`` The Dane inquired as he allowed the two females to digest the idea of him ruling here.

Ugh. A dog like him ruling a place like this? Disgusting. Though it may fit his personality. Lei thought to herself. Though, in his mind and maybe the other female dog, it would seem fitting for him. She wasn't scared of large dogs nor was she scared of his low voice. It was the fact that she didn't want to get hurt in a place like this and she wasn't stupid enough to get into a fight with the large mutt without some backup. Sure, she could probably nip here and there, making him bleed just a little but she wasn't big enough or strong enough to keep at it or even severely injure him. Only another dog with as much strength as the brute, or even a human adult could probably beat him.
She did not speak as the two dogs talked. She was young, but not completely stupid as mentioned before. A bit of her knew that she was scared of talking, scared of getting hurt, but her bigger ego pushed it back so that it could no longer be heard. I don't suppose one of you ladies could show me where there might be some clean water? His voice broke her thoughts. "I'm new to this "area"" She replied. "So I don't know."

A second went by with her mind at work. She spoke. "I don't know either, but we may be able to find some. Come on, follow me," she said. She ran her tongue once over the great black dog's jaw before cantering off with a limp. But that didn't stop her from her pace. She had her nose glued to the filthy ground, searching out a source of freshwater.
And there it was. A puddle of rainwater in a hole in the ground. She looked back at Mayfair, blinking her discovery. She snuffled at it and lapped up a bit of it, curing her thirst.
But her stomach rumbled. Her hunger was the most dominant. She sat down, ignoring the hunger, looking at the great black dog. She thought about what he had said earlier, about ruling. "I think you'd be fit for the job as well," she commented.

Mayfair raised his head, those nearly red eyes looking over the metal strewn landscape. He seemed to fit in here, like he belonged amid these rotting cars. He had never known any other life. When the bold little femme came up and licked his muzzled she would have a mixture of flavors assault her tongue... formost being that thick foam that lingered on his lips from lack of water, the next being blood... after that dirt. The dog was anything but clean. A bit of a grin formed on his lips as his thin tail wagged some.
He took a step forward and followed her, after a few moments he would give a soft growl, not of anger but clearly of annoyance, turning his gaze back to his wounded foot, the other might have noticed that he dragged his toes a bit when he walked, and it seemed he didn't step down on it quite right. The arrovation of that caused him to growl irritation, looking over at his own foot. ``I smell water up here.`` He said as they came upto an old pickup truck. He managed to get those his foot under him right before bunching up those muscles and launching himself up into the bed of the truck. As his feet vanished over the edge of it and the loud thumping of his paws meeting metal sounded, there was a splash to join it. It was not the freshest water, but his nose smelled no disease or danger from it, so his head lowered and that large flat tongue molested the water's surface mercilessly. Once he had drank his fill, regardless of if the pair joined him in the truck, he would leap up onto the top of the cab and lay down.
He had a look of regality about him as he glanced over the lands around him. Wondering how many other forsaken and brow beaten vagabond mutts like himself lurked here, here where no man, and few dogs dared to roam it seemed. He sighed calmly. ``I think it might be high time that someone took charge of this vagabond rif-raf and showed the cainine royals and the man beasts that we shouldn't be forsaken just because we are not what they concider normal`` He said passively, as if asking the other two's opinion of this idea. ``Start a revolution?``
