Body pressed low to the cement pathway, a vixen makes her way stealthily closer the source of food that had enticed her sense of smell. It was a rope of sausages.... Sophie lran her pink tounge over the sides of her muzzle. She could already taste the marvelous juices filling her mouth.... Ears flatten themselves aginst her skull as she advances slowly. She'd eaten about 12 hours ago, adn you never know when you'll find food again, or when your last meal will be. Slinking under the table, she patiently settles into a sitting position, head low, ears still flat, all movements cease. The russling of a human doing something with papers can be heard as Sophie remains still beneath the table on which her prize lay. She waits. Finally, after 5 minutes of sitting there, the human pics up the green peices of paper, puts them in a sack, and walks off, leaving the sausages. No doubt it'll be back, they just don't leave things like this out here. Quick as a flash, before the human can notice, she's got the links in clamped between her ivory teeth and darts off, remaining low to the ground to decrease her chances of being spotted. She knows nearly every trick to this place, and once you take something, you don't just want to walk away or trot away in plain sight, because that's when a human will yell, and either throw something at you or give chase. So, to avoid any of this, Sophie remains low, and moves ata swift lope, and finds shelter in the alleyway. She sits and gives herself a good sractching. She's deserved it. But then again, theft was an art to her, and she was most passionate about it. She could kill, but when your food was easy to catch, like an unmoving, already dead peice of meat, why not? You save the energy and the calories, everything essential to surviving in this foresaken place. Finally, she hunches over her long prize, and quickly, ravenously, and alertly beings to take large bits of sausage and gulps them down one by one, tearing them off of one another and devouring them before anyone else gets the idea of stealing what she's earned. she wasn't idiotic. She was clever and somewhat conniving. Friendliness doesn't exactly earn you as living when you're a stray, you know?

Let The Blood Flow...{ A } r c a i { n } eSo, my twin sister had yet to arrive to the territory yet. Well, you can hardly ever expect a female to actually be on time. I smiled as I watched a few dogs run though the place and considered a few to offer a shelter. Does it seem strange that I already have my own land? Of course not, I may be new to this damned city, but it isn't all that hard to get your own territory. A few bites and couple of scratches and before you know it you've got yourself a territory. I watched as one female went to leap into a car, gracefully and elegantly, but faulted as she went though the window-less door and had it fall off. I couldn't help but smirk; it was a pity that we lived such miserable lives...but one day we will show those humans what we really are. Ah...I wanted to howl to the moon at those thoughts, but I had to surpress my urge...a female had caught my eye and I had to see even if she found me less attractive. I watched her stare at the food before her and watched her, thinking to myself, Does she not know how to hunt? Rats were easiest to hunt in any place you could find them; this city was rampant with overpopulated rats. It was easy to get them, but it was hardly a meal...Even six of them still left me hungry and wanting more. Ah...I remember hunting for deer as a pack. Those were splendid times...the pack hunted together and worked together to bring home food...of course my parents were the first to eat since they were the leaders of the pack. Then it was the beta, then the rest of the pack. Of course, we were fed, but I would think most dogs would know the 'old ways'...Still, this female intrigued me and I knew there were brains running though that pretty little head of her's, otherwise she wouldn't be sitting under that table waiting for the food that the foolish human had left. Still, I continued to watch, waiting to see if she would be successful. Strange...Humans tend to leave valuable food lying around everywhere and, if you're to slow, the damned gulls will get to them first, or worse, another dog. I was not hungry at this point, so she had little to fear...if she actually saw me. I watched her seize the food and take off down the alleyway. I smiled and quietly raced after her, moving like a shadow though the place. Still in the shadows, I watched her eat the food and made a note to try a stunt like this. Perhaps Nirvana and I would be able to do some good if we worked together. I waited until she finished her meal as not to let her think me as a threat before I approached her and smiled in greeting, my head and tail held high in dominance, for I was alpha in my lands.
"Greetings, my dear," I said with a spine-tingling voice, "I couldn't help but notice that you seem to be struggling with life in this city." I looked at her thin body as a means of proving my point. "I have a large territory that holds no one but myself in it at the moment and I thought that you might be interested in joining my clan...helping it to grow and strike fear into other clans and the wretched humans that scoff at us." And I was not joking. I would strike any human that meant threat to me, my land, my wolves, my mate, or my pups. I would die for my clan if need be...But, at the moment, I had nothing to fear. I smiled, "Think of it this way; if you join me, finding food will be easier and you'll have a place to stay to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer." My land consisted of an abandoned hotel with many rooms in it...perhaps one for each wolf and their mate. I smiled at that idea before I looked at the female again with a look that asked if she would follow me or turn away....No One's Stopping You

I had wolfed it all done in a matter of minutes. There were too many out here that wanted your food, and I'll be dam.ned if I let anyone steal form me! I was furious when it came to defended what I'd won. And I don't give a rip for titles or ranks, if you think you're really good anough to try and steal, think again. I was this, sure. But I was quick, clever, and strong as well as lithe and sleek, though muscles were plenty defined beneath my tri-colored fur. Struggles? Of course! who doesn't struggle in this forsaken place but the humans and their stupid animal slaves? All strays struggle to stay hidden, to avoid being taken to the place where they destroy you your life with one simple injection. I knew all of that. I might have been raised by humans, but that was a once in a lifetime thing. I'll not go back into their hands, I'd rather die some horrid death and suffer than give myself to them as a personal slave. Fetching newspapers and eating that dry sh*t was just disgraceful. Those mutts had no idea what sort of life, though hard, they were missing. It was fun and entertaining to give humans a hard time, especially when they're so soft and tender, one nip on the legs sends them screaming and running away because they think you have rabies. It makes me laugh, really. But that was life as a stray. Hard, but in a way, thrilling. I knew I enjoyed doing what I do...stealing. Don't think I couldn't kill, because I can. But why waste calories if you're not even sure you'll be able to catch a decent meal. If you ask me, those rats are a waste of time, they hardly refuel you after having chased them around, adn you could eat a whole colony and still be as hungry as you were before you'd started the hunt. If you're going to hunt something, it might as well be those stupid furballs known as cats, maybe even another dog, if you're lucky enough to catch a soft purebred off guard. But this is life for you, only the survival of the fittest, and I sure as hel.l wasn't a softie! I look up, running my tongue over the sides of my muzzle. It had been satisfying, and I was content, for the time being. Besides, I knew almost all of the great spots where you could find places where humans just hung food up and left. An easy catch, and it hardly takes and muscle, but a whole lot of cunning and brains. I see the female, and the way she stands does speak of dominance. I force the fur along my spine to remain flat. I wasn't the female that was easily dominated. I had a dominant personality, and I most certainly wouldn't stand for being at the bottom of the pecking order. Just keep in mind, rank doesn't matter to me.... I listen ears forward, showing some interest, but I wasn't about ready to jump on the offer. I sit down, and wait, letting my mind roll the idea around in my skull. I then look back directly at the female, and stand up, wakling over toward her. I wasn't a stupid halfbreed. I'll do what I can to survive, but when it comes to choice, I choose what will benefit me most. Being under the rule of this female, or simply continuing life as a stray until something better comes along. I study her. She looked strong enough.... I grin and speak. " What's in it for me if I decide to follow, then? Besides food and shelter?" I wanted to hear something persuading. warmth and food was nice, but I could do just as well on this very alley way as I had been doing for the past two years. so come on, if you really want me to follow..... Persuade me. ooc- like this point of veiw! gonna change it to I insteasd of she!
