Name:
Osoreru (can be shortened to Oso or Osore)
Gender:
Male
Age:
4 years
Breed:
Akita Inu
Height/Weight:
29 inches at the shoulder/140 lbs
Color:
Red/Brown Sable and White
Markings:
Osore is a pretty basic example of what a "standard" sable akita would look like. His main coat color appears to be a sort of burgundy red/brown and covers most of his body, save his front paws, back toes, part of his tail, and a patch on his chest (all of which are white). His underside and parts of his legs, in good lighting, appear to be a shade lighter than the rest of his body but it is mostly an optical illusion due to the color of his top coat and guard hairs. Most of his red/brown undercoat is covered in some way in harsh black guard hairs, giving Osore a more muddy, almost dirty sort of look and texture over much of his mid section, head, and neck. The guard hairs are thickest near his back, making it appear as though he has a black saddle, and are thinnest around his legs and stomach, where his fur appears lighter. Again, it's all a bit of an optical illusion.
The heavy black mask that covers his face is not, however. It is simply a marking common to the breed, regardless of fur color.
Personality:
Osoreru; a Japanese term that means/is equivalent to the English verb "fear", as in "to fear" something or someone.
Needless to say, this particular brute lives up to his namesake. Considered the yang of his litter of two (his brother being the yin), Osore is a notoriously dark, violent and overall unstable dog. He prefers to move at night, hates sunlight and the chirping of birds, and has been known to snap at any avians he can reach, killing them with his powerful akita jaws but never eating them. Those he cannot reach, he babbles at incoherently until they grow intimidated and fly away. Truly a stranger creature in the eyes of others.
But what Osore appears to lack in sanity, he makes up for in his stubborn demeanor and his lack of caring and compassion toward others. You think he's crazy? Well good for you. Aggressive and combative by nature, being a japanese fighting dog, he has a habit of challenging others, particularly when he suspects they don't like him. He is a large and physically powerful brute, one who does not go down easily and one most dogs would not actually fight if it came down to it. So he is notorious for getting right up in the faces of aggressors and other brutes who dislike him, instigating a brawl, knowing that the other dog will either chicken out or lose in the end.
He works off of intimidation, basically, living for the fear he knows others have of him and his capabilities. He is not so much interested in fighting as he is interested in proving his superiority. Domineering and over-confident, he's a bit of a power monger, always attempting to claim anything and everything that comes his way. Well, everything he determines is of value. Females, for example. Osore is very good at pretending to like and respect females, earning their trust with his intelligence and charisma, and then claiming them, disallowing them to ever leave his side again. Hording them as if they were trophies. He often grows too ambitious after a time and tries to horde more females than he can handle, at which point they usually escape him, but he has not been known to be a sore loser. He's too confident for that.
He'll just catch all the escaped females later...
Despite that overly ambitious attitude of his, Osore is actually not one of those "mating hungry" males. In fact, females are not his only goal in life. They're not even his main one. Nor is fighting... or owning a pack, or any of that. No, the only thing Osore wants for certain is his brother's slow and painful demise. If Osore never touched another fae again and never fought a single battle, it would all be worth it to watch Konjo suffer and die. That is his one and only goal in life and, anyone who attempts to socialize with him will find out very quickly that that is the one and only thing that is always on his mind.
Naturally though, I wouldn't recommend trying. In case you haven't noticed, Osore is not the most social brute on the planet. He lies, he cheats, he steals, he fights. He's rude, arrogant, and very very irritable, especially during the day. I would personally, keep my distance.
History/Past:
Very little is known of Osore's past, but most must assume that it was not a happy time. According to his brother Konjo, both he and Osore were strays at birth, born on the streets to a single mother and an unknown father. It is suspected that the brothers were good friends in their youth, hunting together and tussling with one another just as puppies should.
But, one day, while they were still small but not exactly young puppies anymore, they were faced with a flood and a small roadway. They had to get across the road to get away from the rising river, but their mother was not confident in allowing them to cross alone. So she carried them across one at a time. First Konjo, as always. By this time in his life, Osore noticed that his mother would do things for Konjo first... almost as if she favored him because he was a silver akita like she was... while he looked like their father.
After she'd dropped Konjo off on the far side of the road, the akita fae returned for her second pup. However, on her way across the road a second time, Konjo called for her and, like a good mother, she stopped and turned to hear what he had to say...
Stopped right in the path of an oncoming truck.
She never had a chance. At such a young age, the sight of your one and only caretaker being splattered across the road like a water balloon was a little traumatizing, as it would've been for anyone. But, as Osore got over the fact that his mother was dead, he began to wonder why...
And decided it was Konjo's fault.
He must've cried out for her on purpose, just to make sure she stopped in front of that truck. He wanted to kill her... Though the irrational pup did not bother to wonder why his only brother would want to kill his own mother, by this point in his life he really didn't care. He began to distance himself from his brother, hunting on his own and not sharing his food. He began to attack Konjo more often and would often spend his spare time insulting the only slightly older pup until they grew apart almost completely.
Osore lived off of his hatred for his brother, fuming almost constantly and pacing restlessly as his thoughts slowly built into this permanent part of his psyche. He began to hate things he associated with Konjo: anything silver, other large males, etc. He also began to avoid things that reminded him of his dead mother (which would then make him think of Konjo): bright sunny days, singing birds and human vehicles.
By the time he'd turned a year old, Konjo had disappeared from his life physically. He'd been adopted by some human gang bangers who simply loved his aggression and obsession with attacking and killing things. They fueled his violent tendencies with dog fights and training and such, keeping him from other dogs unless they wished them to fight. His vision blurred, his mental status crumbled and, soon, everything was associated with his brother. The silver bars of his cage, the dog across the room, everything. He would see the silver akita's face in his own reflection, would attack his water dish and chew it until his teeth bled and was, put bluntly, driven insane by his own thoughts.
The humans saw this crazed behavior and, fearing his capabilities, they ditched him in a random city, allowing him to wear his studded collar for protection, should he ever need it. By complete coincidence, it turns out that Konjo was a police dog in this very same city and, while he was on a case, the two brother's crossed paths for the first time in years. Though Konjo was initially just shocked, Osore was immediately enraged and he launched himself at his brother, attacking the silver akita with the ferocity of a wild animal. Konjo's humans were nice enough to break the two apart, Osore immediately captured by animal control, but when the humans declared they were going to kill the violent akita, Konjo had to act. Crazy or not, that akita was his one and only brother. So he attacked the cop he'd once called his partner and, also labeled an aggressive dog, would've been captured by animal control as well.
But both he and his brother escaped into the city, once again separating but unintentionally so. They've been here for a year easily now and, though Konjo is no longer a police dog, they still rarely cross paths. After being attacked by his brother several times, he's learned to avoid Osore.... but, Osore is not so easily swayed. He constantly searches for Konjo and will still do absolutely anything to destroy him... anything.
Theme song:
Nightwish - "Dark Chest of Wonders"
Once I had a dream And this is it
Once there was a child's dream One night the clock struck twelve The window open wide Once there was a child's heart The age I learned to fly And took a step outside
Once I knew all the tales It's time to turn back time Follow the pale moonlight Once I wished for this night Faith brought me here It's time to cut the rope and fly
Fly to a dream Far across the sea All the burdens gone Open the chest once more Dark chest of wonders Seen through the eyes Of the one with pure heart Once so long ago
The one in the Big Blue is what the world stole from me This night will bring him back to me
Fly to a dream...
